The problem is that you have stress unknowingly living in your body which makes you feel disconnected.

By clearing stress out of your body, you open yourself up to experiencing elevated emotions such as purpose, clarity, and connection.

Here’s how we do it:

  1. Use the breath to clear out stress, suppressed emotions, and potential trauma
  2. Create space within yourself to experience elevated emotions
  3. Feel new levels of clarity, connection, and purpose

SOMATIC BREATHWORK™ showed me I was reacting to life’s pressures from a place of defense. My trials and tribulations propelled me to make significant changes in my life. This desire to do something different placed me on a journey of healing, self-discovery,  and, most importantly, self-acceptance.

Somatic Breathwork is a direct experience of healing and transformation. Your body is designed to naturally grow through stress. Without this natural stress release, the pressure builds and suppresses your potential in life. Through simple breath techniques, you will engage your natural ability to clear yourself of stress so you can receive more clarity and purpose.

You will be lying down with your eyes closed for the duration of the 60-minute breathwork session. Our team of trauma-informed practitioners will guide you through verbal cues, intentional music, and optional hands-on touch. Somatic breathwork is designed to be uncomfortable - you may feel emotions or sensations that you haven’t felt before and you are encouraged to feel them fully. You may leave your session feeling a deep connection with yourself and your potential in life.

Somatic breathwork is intended as a personal growth experience and should not be looked upon as a substitute for psychotherapy. It is not appropriate for pregnant women, for persons with cardiovascular problems, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, history of seizures, stroke, major psychiatric conditions, recent surgery, acute infectious illness, or epilepsy. If you have any doubt about whether you should participate, please consult with your physician(s). Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their physician(s).

Not all breathwork is created equal. Though other types of breathwork may be called “somatic breathwork”, the facilitators may not be formally trained or trauma-informed. Somatic Breathwork is a deeply vulnerable experience which is why all facilitators with Exhale Boise are required to be certified and trauma informed. We prioritize creating a professional, safe, and supportive environment that will provide you the tools and resources needed to safely navigate your breathwork journey.

Your body changes slowly - the key to your practice is consistency. It’s normal to experience resistance to your practice because it can be uncomfortable. We encourage you to listen to your body as your guide for how often to experience a full session but to not let resistance hold you back. Some people come weekly while others come monthly. As you progress in your journey, we encourage you to use somatic breathwork regularly as a preventative tool so that stress doesn’t accumulate in your body.

Testimonials

  • “My experience this last time was very powerful and eye opening. It’s helped me realize that I have been so hard on myself in some ways and has helped me take a step back while providing more grace and acceptance of where I am at in life. Which is huge.

Throughout this process I have realized I am not alone and also that not everything is about me. And that is a beautiful lesson in itself.”

    Dylan Mason

  • “It was an extraordinary experience. I truly felt supported during my journey. You are a graceful facilitator and provide an environment for people to thrive.”
    Jerri Mizrahi

  • “I really enjoyed the session. I am glad I didn't "force" any sort of release during the session....just allowed me to take it at my own pace and honor what I was feeling...in that moment.”
    Cara Gilligan

  • "I had a profound experience where I was sitting with my deeply wounded inner child. During this experience, Mariah held me in my sorrow. She guided me through, helping me find the light, she sat with my inner little girl who didn’t believe anyone saw her. I’m grateful she was a steward over this experience and was the one to safely remind me to lean in to where the breath was bringing me - back home.”
    Kelsie Earl
